Slaviero Baía Norte Florianópolis

The North Bay view is amazing, and breakfast is very good. The hotel itself is good, though some of the setup could be improved. The shower heater didn’t keep the water temperature steady, and the towel holder fell off the wall.

This Slaviero by the bay in downtown Florianópolis is a reliable option if you’re staying in that part of town. The rooms are on par with Holiday Inn or Ibis, maybe a little better. There’s a pool, a good restaurant with an above-average breakfast, and a gym, though the treadmill squeaks. The main attractions are close enough, and the airport is relatively nearby. The beaches aren’t close, so this is more of a business hotel. Rooms are comfortable, service is efficient, and it has the amenities you’d expect.

I came back after a few years and unfortunately had to lower my rating. The staff were a bit rude, and charging 35 BRL for parking outside in front of the hotel feels unnecessary when you’re already paying the full rate. It comes across as opportunistic. The gym is in poor shape and needs maintenance. Breakfast was decent, though.

The stay was amazing. I did miss having bigger soaps for the shower and an iron in the room for clothes. Some toothpaste would’ve been nice too, and these days a smart TV seems necessary for connecting to YouTube and other services.
