Nordeste Palace Hotel - Fortaleza

I was traveling alone for work and felt scared staying here. Sometimes the noises seemed to be inside my room. It felt like a haunted hotel. I was first put in room 209, where the air conditioners in the neighboring rooms were so noisy that sleep was impossible. They then moved me to a room on the third floor, but at 3 a.m. I heard a lot of noise from someone walking and dragging furniture both above me and on my floor. Again, I couldn't sleep. There's not even a phone in the rooms to contact reception, which is ridiculous. The place is in poor shape. Some walls are visibly peeling, and the bathroom fixtures and tiles are stained. It seems like the hotel has been left to deteriorate over time. Stay away!

I don't know how this place has a 4.2 rating. This was one of the two worst hotels I've stayed in, and the experience was traumatic. The facade was dirty, and the air conditioner was louder than a samba school. Its controls didn't work. The door and tiles were stained and broken, and the towels had blood stains. Breakfast was horrible, so I ate at a bakery on the other days. The elevator was often dirty and wet, and it broke down. The parking staff never offered to help. One night, the valet lost my car key. The afternoon receptionist seemed to be there only because he had to be and was in a bad mood. This hotel needs to be closed and completely rebuilt.

I've been staying here for 10 days, but I only had breakfast three times because the staff seem to serve people based on their appearance. In January I have to come back to Fortaleza to finish my work, and I won't stay here again. One time I waited more than five minutes in the dining area, but the employee just looked at me and ignored me. When two women arrived, he walked past my table and served them without even looking at me. The next day I waited again for dinner, then went down to reception to ask for service. I was attended to, but only half my order arrived, so I had to leave my room to collect the rest. I asked to speak with the manager, who still hasn't contacted me, assuming the message even reached her. They also charged me for water I hadn't ordered for my room. I paid without complaining, because they're quick to charge but the service is terrible.

The hotel's in the city center, and my family and I liked it a lot. Our room was spacious, everything was clean and tidy, and the service was good.
