Dogs barked constantly, and the owner got upset instead of responding well when we raised concerns or made requests. The stay would have been better if she had dealt with the problems. This place works for a night or two, but longer stays stop being comfortable. Breakfast had little variety, and the food wasn't always fresh. Of the three rooms we rented, only one had a working hot shower. After we complained, the owner provided a replacement shower but didn't install it, so my husband had to do that. The water pressure in another room was too low for a shower. After seven days, the owner moved us to a room with a burned-out shower, and again a guest had to install the replacement.

Dona Brenda was friendly and attentive, and I had no problems with her or her employee. What bothered me was the room layout and the access arrangement. My window faced the reception, so there was no real privacy around noise or light between my room and the front desk. Coming and going was also a little awkward. I had to call Dona Brenda each time so she could open the gate. She was willing to do it, but it was still a minor inconvenience. I don't know if this was always the setup or because it was low season.

The service was bad. She yells in a completely out-of-control and disrespectful way. I'm being kind when I put it that mildly. She has no emotional control or tact for working with people, and no empathy for a colleague. May the energy you put into the world come back to you twofold. Good luck. :)

The owner takes great care of everything, and the rooms are well looked after with a lovely romantic feel. Her poodle is very affectionate and a fun feature of the hotel. Breakfast was average, about a 6 out of 10, and wasn't always immediately available. There was no electric shower, but for the price the hotel is a 10 for value.
