Sky Tower

I live here, so I can speak to the problems with the unit and the Skytower condominium. The condo fee is relatively low, but I don't think the high rent is justified, even for a furnished unit. Nearby guesthouses offer monthly rates with electricity, water, and gas included, which seems like a better deal. The apartment is small and hot, with no airflow unless I leave the front door open. That means giving up privacy, especially with eight units on each floor and at least two residents in each one. The building's facade gets sun from 10:00 AM until the end of the day, so I have to run a fan, which raises my electricity bill. The walls between neighboring units are plasterboard, and sound carries both ways, so I can hear what the neighbor next door says. The windows are close together. I live between two units, and both neighbors smoke, so cigarette smoke often drifts into my apartment. I have to shut the window to keep it out, which makes the apartment even hotter. The area isn't the best either, and depending on the resident, you may need to take extra care to protect yourself. A visitor who is anonymous and pictured with a beer has no basis for making positive or negative claims about the Skytower building condominium.

This residential building has 26 floors of apartments and four floors of parking, with 208 units at the corner of Rua Vinte e Cinco de Março and Pereira Filgueiras in Centro de Fortaleza-Ce. Each floor has eight apartments: three face the sea, three face Av Santos Dumont, and two face Rua Vinte e Cinco de Março. Most are around 45 square meters, with the ones facing Rua Vinte e Cinco de Março slightly larger. The apartments are very small and get especially hot on the Av Santos Dumont side. Air only moves through when the front door is left open, which costs you privacy. The interior walls are plasterboard, so you can hear noise when they are touched, and they don't feel very sturdy. Smoke from residents who insist on smoking inside can also make the air hard to breathe. Residents can reserve the gym for just one hour at a time, but I've sometimes seen people who don't live there using it, which seems like a security mistake. The rents don't match the quality of the apartments, so be careful about moving in and find out what your future neighbors are like.

There are far too many units in the building, and both the apartments and leisure area are small, yet the condo fee is very high. The apartments have no balcony, and the recreation area has no trees, pool, or sports court.

I visited while looking for an apartment to rent and walked through the shared areas. I saw people there who weren't tenants or property owners. Inside the apartments, most of the walls are drywall, so sound doesn't stay isolated from the neighboring units.
