Vila Gale Fortaleza

The rooms were spacious, with great balconies, and the food was good. Breakfast was especially good, and we enjoyed the drinks from the pool bar. The beach right in front is amazing, though we didn't feel as secure as we had at the other hotels. The service was very friendly and gave us great dinner recommendations. We had an amazing start to our trip in Brazil here. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for the hospitality. We can't wait to come back soon.

We had trouble with the door lock, and the staff weren't helpful in fixing it. Each time, we had to go to the front desk to get the door opened. At checkout they also charged a service tax that wasn't included in our booking.com reservation. As a diamond Hilton member and Marriot Titanium member, I've never had an experience like this in all my years of travel. The room photos were misleading, since the rooms are very small. The surrounding area looked to me like the south Bronx in the 1980s, and I think this beach and part of Fortaleza should be avoided at all costs. I'd tell anyone considering this hotel to choose Cambuco beach or the beach near the Holiday Inn in the Fortaleza area instead. I never usually write reviews, but felt I had to warn people against making the mistake of staying here.

The rooms are spacious, but the furniture, paint, and utilities are clearly deteriorating. The hotel seems to have seen better days years ago and now badly needs renovation and updates. Service was confusing and slow, and the food wasn't impressive. For what you get, it's pricey.

The location is great, and this was our third stay. What disappointed us most this time was the restaurant service and food. The servers were very slow and didn't seem to know anything, and the food was terrible. The pizza was an enchilada shell with cheese, and we waited 20 minutes for a Guarana.
