The exit was the worst part. The gate was already raised while they watched us leave, and a housekeeper had to shout to reception, “You can let them out!” It felt tacky. The place also didn’t feel clean at all. I felt gross touching the remotes and the buttons for the lights and TV, and I didn’t even dare order food. There was no Bluetooth, so I asked for it and they sent a cable that didn’t work. The bed had no sheet, just a fitted sheet with tears in it. If you expect basic privacy and comfort, this motel will feel horrible. Maybe it was good once, but now it’s in a sorry state. I don’t recommend it.

I picked this traditional-style motel because it was close to the places I needed to get to, and stayed for about six hours. Room 13 was pretty standard: hot shower, round bed, clean towels, a table and sofa about two meters long each, a mini fridge, and a TV with free-to-air channels. The air conditioner seemed like it needed cleaning, since my allergic rhinitis started as soon as I turned it on. Also, the toilet tank wouldn’t refill, so I had to fill it using the handheld shower.
