Falls Galli Hotel

The staff were super kind and found me a quieter room, which made the stay okay. The air conditioning and fridge worked well too. But the hotel itself feels old, ugly, and unwelcoming. I chose it because I thought buses to Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, left from Rodoviaria International, the train station just a few minutes away. I was mistaken, and the area turned out to be a terrible place to stay: dark, noisy, hard to get around on foot, and not particularly safe. I’d always use a car or Uber there. Breakfast wasn’t very varied, and I wish they opened earlier than 7 a.m.

My room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely sunrise view, and breakfast had a nice range of choices. I had a pleasant stay at Falls Galli Hotel and might come back. I was there on Mother's Day, though, and the cake was far too sweet for me. It would also help to have labels on all the food. The location is quite a way from the city center, and there are very few city buses, so getting around can be difficult without your own car.

The welcome was nice, and at least the old hotel and room were clean, but the bed and mattress were very uncomfortable and there was no mattress protector. The location was bad for me: no restaurants nearby, not in the city center, and right across from the highway. The sound insulation was so poor that I could hear all the cars. My travel agency had booked it, but I checked out after 10 minutes and moved to another hotel.

The bedrooms were okay, the internet was slow, and the air conditioner worked. But the door kept opening unless we locked it all the way. The hotel is very dated and needs serious renovations and better service. Food wasn’t great, and cleaning was minimal. They also seemed short-staffed. Anyone could come in for breakfast, as nobody checked whether diners were hotel guests. The elevator was awful and took so long that most people used the stairs. I noticed the public bathroom near reception had run out of toilet paper and told the desk. The receptionist apologized, saying two cleaners had COVID and they were short on help. When I checked later, the roll had been left on the floor instead of placed in the dispenser, and the trash was still overflowing from two days earlier.
