This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The next morning at checkout, I avoided the tall man with glasses at reception because of his attitude the day before. As I discussed the issue with his colleague, he interrupted aggressively, saying he hadn’t forced me to take the taxi and it wasn’t his problem. His colleague was trying to help, but he kept cutting in with rude, aggressive comments. When I asked for the manager’s email, he refused and said I had no reason to contact the manager, that complaints should go to reception, where he would answer. I emailed reception, and almost two weeks later there’s still no response. The trouble began at check-in. I had to scan a QR code to register, but the internet wasn’t working and I needed to leave shortly. When I asked the tall young man with glasses what to do, he told me to wait in the lobby for a good connection. I said I needed to get to my room to change and shower. He suggested using the bathroom to change instead. Only after I said I’d book another hotel if they didn’t give me my room did he find another way to check me in. Later that day, I learned I could shop in Paraguay. A receptionist said the only way to get there was by taxi, so I agreed to the hotel’s taxi, quoted at R$400. The first driver took me around for about 10 minutes, then said he didn’t know the way and arranged for another driver to pick me up elsewhere. I asked the second driver to take me somewhere to buy a rain jacket, but he took me to a mall that only had electronics, cosmetics, and food. He then took me to a nearby clothing mall when I asked, but most of the shops were already closed because it was raining. I asked him to take me back to the hotel. There, he said the fare was R$425.49 without explaining the difference. I thought he was asking for a tip and was willing to pay it. My first card payment supposedly failed, so I used a second card. When I checked my banking apps, both cards had been charged. The charge on the second card was marked pending, but the money had already been deducted. The driver refused to refund me while it was still pending. Reception assured me they’d refund the duplicate once it no longer showed as pending. Don’t use the hotel’s taxi service, they’re scammers.
