Good hotel.

I was swayed by the 8.9 rating on bookings and decided to stay here. I even paid for the night in advance. I arrived exhausted. The air conditioning seemed weak at first, but I thought it would improve in a few minutes. After unpacking and showering, I was dripping with sweat. It was nearly midnight, I was tired and needed to get up at 5, so I had to change rooms, or change hotels if the same problem continued. I was told the air conditioning had recently been serviced. How can such a basic thing not work? It wasted time and caused frustration and stress for guests in transit at the end of a long trip. I suggest BOOKING.COM adjust its rating criteria. That app's score won't be a guide for me anymore. I'm really upset and disappointed. I also want to alert the management of HOTEL DOVE to other problems my wife and I noticed. Some elevator lights were burned out or not working, and the ones that did work kept flickering. The bath soaps had no scent at all and seemed possibly past their expiration date. The shower dripped onto a metal bathroom drain and made a lot of noise, disturbing the quiet of the room. The room phone didn't work, and there was no face towel for my wife. There were no bedside tables or any kind of support next to the bed. It was summer, but anyone staying in winter would suffer from the cold too, because the electric shower doesn't get hot. The sink only has cold water, from an automatic tap that stubbornly cuts off less than three seconds after you press it. Brushing your teeth, washing your face, or soaping your hands becomes very stressful. If the hotel wants to save water, fine, but have some mercy with taps that shut off every three seconds! I didn't give an even lower rating because there wasn't one. Paying more than 300 reais to suffer... I DON'T RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

The hotel is very good: everything was clean, the room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the shower wonderful. Breakfast had just the things I like, and the staff were friendly. It's very close to the friendship bridge, so you can walk there. The area is busy during the day, with lots of shops nearby; it gets quieter at night, but an Uber takes care of that. I have no complaints and would definitely stay again.
