VELINN Hotel Natureza Foz

The pool was a real highlight, and the property itself is beautiful. The rooms were clean and breakfast delicious. Wesley at the front desk gave me good advice about the area and had a great sense of humour. Be sure to give the cats some pets.

The hotel cats were lovely, the pool was nice to have, and both receptionists I met were friendly and really helpful. I stayed for two nights to see the falls. It was comfortable enough overall, and for the price the tired look of the rooms and hotel wasn’t much of a complaint. The bed setup was a problem, though. In my double room, the double bed was actually two singles pushed together, with a gap down the middle. It wasn’t comfortable, so I slept in one of the two other single beds in the room. That meant four single beds in what was meant to be a double room. Cleanliness was just passable, with the odd dead insect and stains on the sheets. The kitchen was basically unusable. The oven was broken, the only frying pan was tiny and broken too, and there were no pots, plates or cutlery. Some basic cooking equipment would make a big difference, as would providing an actual double bed in double rooms. Looking back, I wish I’d just paid for a single room.

A nice spot to unwind while visiting the falls and town sights. The hotel is near the centre of Iguaçu, with a huge supermarket close by and the bus station an easy walk away. The staff were attentive and very friendly, and breakfast was good.

It feels more like a resort, but at hostel prices. There were two of us, and we got a huge private room meant for five. The showers were great, breakfast was a huge buffet, and there’s a nice pool. The staff are very friendly and even offered us a ride to the airport.
