Safa Hotel

A pretty good hotel, and it has a pool. Breakfast was good, though not excellent. I think two bottles of water a day should come with the price instead of being an extra charge. Rooms on the first floor have no view, just a frosted-glass window.

We stayed at the Safa Hotel for three nights, July 21 to 23, with our Brazillian friends. It's in the heart of the city, near a large shopping mall, and has a big family pool and secure parking. The hotel is lovely, though it seemed to have opened to guests a little early. Our room wasn't fully finished, and the staff shortage at the time was a bit frustrating. Management were very polite. I also suggest changing the bedside power outlets to include USB outlets, since there's currently no way to charge mobile phones, which is necessary these days. In our room the toilet roll holder was awkwardly placed, but I'm sure it will be moved somewhere more suitable. Guests: Trevor and Mary Dickinson.

The location was good, and both the hotel and pool were excellent. Breakfast was excellent too. The staff were fantastic, especially Josue, whose English is very good and who was always helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

I was in room 19 near the pool, and it was well insulated. I didn't hear noise apart from the rain. The room was very cramped, though. The bed was okay, the pillows only so-so, and the bathroom was fine, with a raised step that kept the floor from flooding. The shower was very good, but the soap wasn't replenished daily, and one bar melts after a single shower. The sewer smell was really unpleasant. I couldn't tell where it came from, but it was strong enough to make me nauseous. Breakfast was good, though they serve more basic things on weekends. The entrance and reception look cute. One other issue: we asked the night receptionist to arrange something for breakfast the next day, 27/2/26, at 6 a.m. She didn't pass the message on, so in the morning none of the employees or receptionists knew what we meant. Luckily, the women arriving to work in the kitchen sorted it out.
