Hotel Veneza

Don’t trust what you see on Booking. The shower was cold, so they sent us to room 103, where the shower heated up but gave me an electric shock. It felt like one of those improvised hotels. Breakfast looked nothing like the photos except for the couscous. I wouldn’t recommend it. The owner puts it on Booking and seems to think it’s cheap, but if it’s cheap, don’t list it there, sir. I’ve stayed in fancy hotels that were much better than this. Good grief 🤌

The staff were kind and courteous, which really stood out. The place seems family-run, and it was very clean even though renovations were underway. The hotel is right in the center, handy for work, and the bed is a good size. The shower has strong, hot water, but be careful, I got a shock in the tiny shower area. The room itself wasn’t comfortable, and things like the pillows and blankets need improvement. Breakfast was basic for the price. It wasn’t a bad stay since I only came to sleep, but it could have been better: more TV channels and less noise. There’s no soundproofing, so you can hear any conversation from inside the rooms.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were friendly and very helpful. I’d booked a suite with two single beds through Booking, but they offered us another room at no extra cost. Its Queen bed was surprisingly large and comfortable. The room wasn’t big, but it was comfortable, with a smart TV, Wi-Fi, a minibar, a small table and chair, and wardrobes. The hotel Veneza is in central Garanhuns, within walking distance of several parks and other attractions in the “city of flowers.” There’s no restaurant or garage, and access is by stairs only, so our car stayed on the street. Breakfast is very simple, as other reviews say, but the value for money would bring me back.

We planned on staying one night and ended up adding another, and I’d happily return. The owners are very kind and make you feel at home. The hotel is right in the center of Garanhuns, close to shops, restaurants, snack bars, ice cream shops, and tourist spots. The rooms aren’t large, but there’s enough space, the beds are comfortable, and everything was very clean. Wi-Fi worked well. The TV only gets Globo, but I barely spent time in the room during the day, so that didn’t bother me. Breakfast had few choices, but everything was fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. There’s free parking behind the hotel because the city has specific street parking rules. To use it, you have to call someone to open the back door, otherwise you need to go around the block. An electronic lock would make things easier for the staff.
