Hotel Vila Rica

The woman who helped me on my first day was a lovely person, but she can’t manage everything alone. They need more staff. I left and came back at 10 p.m. to find the hotel locked, and it took about 20 minutes before anyone heard the intercom. The shower is awful, with hardly any water and then scalding hot water; the sink water comes out dirty at first, then clears up. There’s nowhere in the room to hang a shirt. I’m not writing this to put the hotel down, just hoping things improve.

The location worked well, close to the city’s main restaurants, and the price was appealing. My room was clean, with daily cleaning, and the air conditioners were new. The service also stood out as especially good. A great stay!

Nice hotel, with good service and breakfast. One thing needs to change: quite a few staff members smoke. The person who finishes setting up breakfast goes outside to smoke, and the smell gets into the dining room.

I can’t recommend it. On weekends, the person responsible for breakfast also has to clean the rooms, and with so much work piled on, they end up being rude. Unfortunately, a poor experience.
