This felt like a big scheme. Be careful: they collect personal information they shouldn't be asking for. They also invite you to events, saying your kids can get free toys or gifts, but the real aim is to sell you timeshares or apartments. My husband and I were furious. We didn't realize what was going on until we got to the event, and it was deeply disappointing. My family and I will never return. I'd rather spend my money at a small family hotel or rental.

The service was outstanding from the valet team right through to room service. The room was amazing, new and clean, with a fully stocked mini fridge at no extra charge. Breakfast was wonderful, and the food at both restaurants was spectacular. Alessandro, our server at the Italian restaurant, was great with the kids and gave us excellent recommendations.

The room desk wasn't to my liking, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out. Apart from that, this was a great place to stay. There's a hot tub, steam room, and pool in the basement. We were here for a wedding for a full week and got to enjoy a lot of the hotel. The breakfast and service were fantastic, the decorations were amazing, and the bartenders know how to make OLD FASHIONS!! Being there at the start of Gramado's holiday season made it feel like a mountain hotel in Switzerland, or an old lodge in the European ranges.

The building has a lot of history and shows its age, but it's been looked after well. This is a very traditional hotel and feels like a destination in itself. There's an indoor heated pool, a Jacuzzi, an old-fashioned merry-go-round, a few things for kids, three restaurants, and a bar. The staff were friendly and we had a nice stay, though it was pretty pricey. Several attractions are an easy walk away.

This feels like Gramado at its best, before things took a wrong turn. A great place to get away from the vulgar crowds. But our much-loved weekend breakfast for non-guests recently jumped from R$65 to R$180, tripling in price. The hotel says it's because of "high season." It's still worth it, I think, though we'll see how expensive they decide to make it.
