Poehma Lago Negro, Gramado, Brazil

The place is new and lovely, in a good location. The breakfast had a nice variety, and everything else was perfect. John and the whole team gave us a warm welcome, and the facilities and service were wonderful. I highly recommend it. One thing to address: after breakfast, someone approached me to promote a service or product. The approach was friendly, but asking where I came from, how long I was staying, and who I was felt a bit intrusive. Sometimes guests just want privacy and a chance to relax. It would be good to make sure these pitches don't spoil the experience.

The little touches made a real difference. They kindly prepared some breakfast items for us on the day we had to leave early, and in the late afternoon they served coffee or tea with cake. The tea was delicious. Breakfast was great too, with different items each morning. I chose this hotel for a short stay in Gramado after visiting the city twice before, because I wanted somewhere to rest well. It delivered exactly what I hoped for, with a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. It's right across from Lago Negro and about a five-minute drive from the city center. The staff were wonderful. Special thanks to Bruno, who welcomed us and walked us to our room, explaining everything so politely and warmly. Manager Wesley was exceptional, caring and attentive to us the whole time. Our room was spacious, with a small balcony, two comfortable double beds, and lighting that gave it a romantic feel. The bathroom had a great shower and all the necessary amenities, and it was tidied daily. A great hotel.

Wesley deserves a special mention. The manager was attentive, present, and clearly concerned with making guests comfortable, which really lifted the experience. The staff were consistently polite, helpful, and welcoming, and breakfast had good variety and quality. At Poehma Lago Negro, my stay was excellent from start to finish. The hotel is practically beside Lago Negro, and the location alone makes for a special stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, while the modern facilities were well maintained and impressively clean. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Gramado. I'd return without hesitation and highly recommend it.
