We mostly needed a clean, cheap place to sleep after sightseeing, and this pousada worked well for that. It’s in a lovely, large old traditional home, just a block from the city center, with tidy basic rooms, off-street parking, and friendly, understanding management. You get a key to the front door, so there’s no nighttime curfew, and you can walk to dinner. There’s no breakfast, but several good bakeries are only a block or two away. Great value if you’re looking for an economical stay.

The room was spacious and had towels, bedspreads, blankets, a wardrobe, chairs, and tables. The shower was easy to adjust, and the decor had a grandma’s-house feel. The pleasant scent at the entrance carried down the corridors to the room, and there was a lovely garden out front and outside. Everything was clean and welcoming, the service was very good, and communication over WhatsApp was easy. The location was outstanding, and I had a great stay and would definitely return. There’s no breakfast, which they tell you in advance. March 2024.

It’s a friendly, family-style place with an appealing price, right in the center, so you can walk everywhere. The downside is there’s no breakfast, and the water pressure pump kept switching on. Its noise was pretty bothersome.

The location and parking were good, and breakfast was simple. My room, number 205, needs urgent repairs, and cleanliness could be better, especially with the blankets. Room service also needs improvement. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during my stay.

The location is good, and the staff were very friendly. I would have given five stars if the rooms were a little nicer. One time I needed a plunger, but couldn’t reach anyone at the pousada because nobody is there around the clock.
