Pousada Sonho de Gramado

The pousada is cute, but the shower was like a very basic one you’d have at home, the kind that costs around 30 reais. Barely any water came out, the holes seemed clogged, and it felt like a drip, with that cold drop falling too! 😂 We also didn’t like having to schedule a time to eat breakfast in our room. There was no control over it one day, and a woman came in when my husband and I were having an intimate moment. We didn’t enjoy the experience.

I came with my family for the weekend with high expectations, after seeing so many good reviews. For a moment, I wondered if we were even in the same place those people had reviewed. The decor and breakfast were nice, but the room had no windows, and neither did the bathroom. The mold smell in the room, bedding, and pillows was unbearable. I had an asthma attack and couldn’t sleep all night. I felt sick and could barely breathe in that closed-up room. It was literally my worst experience in Gramado. When I handed in the key, nobody even asked how the night had gone. That’s why I’m leaving this review. I’ll never come back. Thanks.

We had a wonderful weekend. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, the shower nice and warm, and it was quiet at night, so we could rest after a day of outings. The owners were attentive and polite. Breakfast is served in the room. Our room had no window, which wasn’t a problem for us, but it may be useful for future guests to know. The nightly rate was very good, especially for Gramado. I even got chocolate! There’s also coffee and tea at reception, and the lobby decor is very charming. I’d definitely return.

The service was very good overall. The owner and staff were very attentive, and the excellent breakfast was a highlight. The room fell short in two ways: the mold smell was very strong, including in the bedding, so we had to change rooms. Then, in the second room, we found the shower was burned out when we went to bathe.
