Our stay at Pousada Stillus in Gramado was deeply disappointing and emotionally exhausting. Our booking was from the 11th through the 18th, but the airline changed our flight to the 20th. That’s when things became chaotic. We were moved into an Airbnb-style house and got no proper support or even basic help from the accommodation. The living room air conditioner was broken and couldn’t be switched off at the control panel. The house became freezing, during a week when Gramado was around 4 degrees. I was there with my family, including my granddaughter, who was almost 2, and my husband and I were already sick. We asked for help three times, but no real solution came. We felt abandoned, with no warmth, respect, or consideration. Being far from home and feeling that nobody cared about our well-being was awful. While we were at the hotel, the air conditioning also seemed to have been poorly maintained. There was dirt and residue in the filter, and I had a severe allergy attack and a fever for almost the whole trip. My daughter-in-law felt we were treated dismissively because we were from the Northeast, which made everything even more painful. What should have been a family trip turned into physical and emotional suffering. I returned to Salvador needing urgent hospital care. I’m sharing what happened so other families know about our experience.
