Panorama Hotel Guaruja

Great.

The sea view is lovely and the location is great, but some parts of the stay could be more comfortable. We had maintenance problems in the apartment, including a faulty front door lock and leaks from the air conditioner into the room. Some details on the website weren't clear. As we understood it, the apartments are in a large building that's divided between hotels. Some floors belong to Panorama and the rest to another hotel, which has its name displayed at the entrance and a conventional lobby. Panorama has a reception desk, but no visible hotel sign, and guests enter and leave through a garage gate and use only the service elevator. Breakfast items weren't replenished daily either. We saw the same chocolate cake, unchanged, throughout our three days. This is just our view of the place, not a complaint. I hope they can renovate and succeed.

This hotel was awful and expensive for the quality. It says it accepts pets, but Hotel Panorama has no separate entrance. We had to go through Grand hotel, which doesn't accept pets, or keep using a little gate in the garage. The guest elevator didn't work, so we had to use the very old service elevator. The rooms felt insecure because the doors didn't have electronic locks, and the rooms were adjoining. The windows were stuck and falling apart. Curtains were torn and moldy, and some bedroom bulbs were burned out. The old air conditioner was noisy and unclean. An employee even joked that we'd freeze to death since there was no way to control the temperature. I had to take allergy medicine to keep it running. The sheets and towels were dirty and stained. The bathroom was in terrible shape, with a broken folding door, old and low sink, ancient floor tiles, and a poor shower in a stall barely big enough for one person. It smelled bad and had no ventilation at all. We even changed rooms because the first one was impossible to stay in. None of this matched any of the hotel's photos. We were completely misled. It isn't worth even one star.

The beach and the area around the hotel were the only good parts of the holiday. Inside, the room was in awful shape: the bathroom door handle came off in our hands, the window wouldn't open, and there was no room service or way to call reception because there was no intercom. Reception was often unattended too. We had asked for two single beds but got one double, and when we asked for another blanket they said they had none. My first impression was already bad at check-in, and the stay from March 25 to 27, 2016, didn't improve it. I won't be back.
