They turned me away in the middle of the night, even though I had a confirmed booking, and I had to scramble to find another hotel. The area felt extremely unpleasant and unsafe. I’d booked two nights and had been told they’d collect me at the airport, but nobody came, so I had to get my own taxi. When I finally reached Vittoria Hostel, the staff were drunk and very rude. They refused to give me a room and told me to leave. The whole thing was unprofessional and disrespectful. I strongly advise people against staying here.

I arrived with a booking and was met with a terrible attitude. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and the service was awful. I left completely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The bed was comfortable, the shower worked efficiently, and the place was very clean with good WiFi. As a handy spot near the airport, Hostel Vitoria felt like good value, though you should expect some street noise. A party around the corner was extremely loud from midnight until 7am. I still slept fairly well. My driver said the next day that it wasn’t every Saturday and was a special celebration, but other reviews make me think it might happen fairly often. The inside stairs are quite steep, so they could be difficult for anyone with limited mobility. Airport pick-up wasn’t possible for various reasons, but Vitoria met me when I arrived by taxi, explained what I needed to know, gave me coffee, and arranged a ride to the airport the following day. There was also a better room available, which she offered me. I didn’t see her again during my stay. Check-in might have been harder if I hadn’t been reasonably fluent in Portuguese.

Everything else was perfect, but I didn’t like the location. The surroundings were very poor.

Really bad hostel. Vitoria is an arrogant woman. Don’t go.
