Pousada Maanain

Maanain Hotel made for some incredible days, with comfort and a great location. The beaches are wonderful, and it was all sun, sand and comfort. I plan to return and highly recommend Maanain Hotel.

The outdoor area was airy and full of plants, and the large pool was clean, with a separate pool for children. Breakfast was an 8 for me: the scrambled eggs were very good, but I’d like more fruit, oats and granola. The inn is well located for getting to several places, although there’s no direct walk to the beach, so you have to drive to a nearby one. My family of five fit comfortably in the spacious rooms, which have large bathrooms. There’s a small kitchen area with a sink and cabinet that came in handy, plus smart TVs and a minibar. There’s accessible access. Parking is available, but spaces are limited and it’s behind the inn. You may just have to get lucky with a spot, and there’s no gate or much security.

The staff were helpful and attentive, and the restaurant had good food at affordable prices. My room was clean and well organized, and the large pool was spotless and great for relaxing. I had an excellent stay at Pousada Maanain and will definitely come back.

The reception and kitchen attendants were lovely and helpful, a ten out of ten for them. I also thought the price was fair, and the inn sits between Requenguela beach, by the center of Icapuí, and Ponta Grossa. The turnoff for Picos beach is 500 meters away. That beach is quieter, with few people around, and good for relaxing. I chose this place because of the good Booking and Maps reviews and the price, but I’m not sure I’d return. There are a few things that need attention. The parking area needs better organization and marked spaces. I saw cars parked perpendicular instead of parallel, and some guests left cars right in front of the entrance, making it hard for others to get in and out. The inn didn’t step in to help. In my room, the bathroom door was loud and hard to open and close, so using it at night risked waking someone else. There was a table in the little kitchenette area but no chair. The glass shower screen covered only half the shower, so splashes reached much of the toilet and sink area. Breakfast could also have had more fruit, cakes and bread.
