The pool was exceptionally clean, and the establishment itself was very clean too. It's just meters from the beach, with the inn run by a great family. I really enjoyed talking with Paulinho, the owner. The water isn't polluted, but Boqueirão beach has quite a bit of garbage, apparently left by fishermen and careless tourists. The municipality clearly isn't doing a good job cleaning it. I'd recommend driving about 20 minutes to the north of the island, where the beach is deserted and there's lots of wildlife.

The inn is quiet, tidy, and clean. I did miss having a little cabinet in the room for our things. Breakfast is served on an enclosed terrace with a lovely view, but it gets very hot. The two air conditioners can't handle the space. Getting up there means climbing three flights of stairs, which is difficult with children, older guests, or anyone with limited mobility. Pets can't have their own space at breakfast. Mine could stay with me only because it fits in a bag 🤭. The daily pet charge for small pets is 65 reais. In other cities they just charge a fee, not a per-night rate.

The bathroom windows wouldn't open, and the rooms smelled musty. There was dampness on the walls from the air conditioning. They also charged a 10% fee for paying by credit card, which hadn't been mentioned when I booked.
