La Bella Suites

The quiet beachside setting and sea-facing balcony made it easy to start and end each day peacefully. There are good restaurants nearby, and the bus stop right outside made getting around simple. As a solo traveler, I felt safe, respected, and welcome from the moment I arrived. The staff were warm and helpful, and my room was just right. I left feeling calm and refreshed, and I’m already hoping to come back. Thanks for such a lovely few days.

The location was convenient for a swim in the nice pool after a great visit to Praia Jabaquara, the northernmost beach, and they let us check out a little later. Breakfast was adequate, though nothing special. A friendly young employee asked me to update my review, but I thought the boss should have spoken with us instead. There were serious problems with the room and arrival. The pillows were stained, the bed was hard, and there was mold on the wood despite the room having been recently decorated. The renovation looked poorly done. I had to ask for a comforter because the bed only had sheets, and there was no shampoo or conditioner. The parking area set back from the road had too few spaces, which made unloading luggage awkward. Signage was poor, and even with GPS we mistakenly ended up at two other properties. Booking.com described it as beachfront, but it’s across a road from the beach. Given the lack of comfort and amenities, the price felt high, almost twice what many other places on the island charged. I’d avoid staying until things are better organized, or ask for a substantial discount. It didn’t seem ready to be offered to the public as presented.

The ocean view from this stunning location was spectacular. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast was generous and tasty. Staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with questions. I’d highly recommend la Bella suites.
