Pousada Doce Villa

The outside area is quite nice, but the rooms weren’t what I expected from a pousada. The furniture was extremely old, the air conditioner noisy, the minibar rusted along the bottom, and the double bed was made by joining two single mattresses. Room cleanliness was only so-so. There’s no pool or other area for kids. Breakfast had few choices, Wi-Fi might as well not exist, and the advertised poolside snack bar wasn’t there either. I wouldn’t return or recommend it, especially for families with children. Another downside was having to pay on arrival instead of checkout. Once everything is paid, it’s harder to question anything that doesn’t match what was agreed and booked.

The staff were great with us. Ariane and the guy on the night shift were very helpful and attentive. Since we didn’t have a phone number with area code 12, they even ordered pizza for us that night. Room service was very good too. The location is excellent, the food is wonderful, and the rooms are comfortable, with a minibar. The nearest beach is Perequê. There’s a pool and sauna open until 10:00 pm. Breakfast is simple but fantastic, with cold cuts, French bread, whole wheat and sliced bread, milk, chocolate milk, cereal, granola, cakes, juice, and coffee. I’ll come back with my friends next year!

The bed is big, and although the air conditioner is old, it cools the room well. Breakfast is simple and tasty. On the downside, there’s no cable TV in the room we stayed in, the Wi-Fi signal is awful, and there’s a piece of wood down the middle of the double bed that hurts your back. Overall, it’s pretty mediocre.

A peaceful pousada where you can rest well at the end of the day, and very good value for money. The architecture is elegant and cozy, with enough space in the rooms, retro furniture, and decor that blends classic style with the surrounding nature. The team were extremely helpful and treated us really well. I recommend it and will definitely return.
