Trash on the bed

The pool was lovely and warm, so even on chilly days we could enjoy it. I also really loved breakfast: it was delicious, and birds were treated to their own feast alongside us. I could have spent the whole day watching them. Such respect for nature, and I loved it. The pousada is in a peaceful, convenient spot, and the team was incredibly polite and welcoming. Our room felt cozy and came with everything we needed, including a gas shower, hair dryer, minibar, air conditioning, and Netflix. I’ll definitely be back.

The garden design is lush, and breakfast comes with a special sight: colorful birds from the coastal Atlantic Forest nearby. The décor isn’t glossy or luxurious. It’s warm, full of real materials, and thoughtfully put together, with doors, windows, and furniture that look like antiques. I’m especially drawn to that style. At night, the soft, low, warm lighting made it easy to unwind after a spectacular day on this island, surrounded by such rich nature. For the borrachudos, just use repellent. I remembered to reapply and left without donating blood to the mosquitoes. Everything else was just as good. The rooms, mattresses, pillows, and linens were new, and our room was very clean and smelled fresh. On the north coast of São Paulo, humidity often means rooms and bedding smell moldy, so avoiding that must be a challenge. That never happened at Pousada Terra Madre. The staff were wonderful, every one of them. Breakfast was delicious, with several kinds of bread and cake, plus tapiocas in different flavors made to order. The pool is heated, too. Tom handled check-in and Beto check-out, both perfectly.
