#RemoteWorkSpot #routes_nroots #SustainableNomads The wifi is fast at 221.92 Mbps when it works, but it cuts out often, even if only for brief periods under 5 minutes. Mosquitoes and sandflies also make it uncomfortable to work here. One thing to keep in mind: the village depends on diesel for electricity, which has high carbon emissions. Using electricity, including for hot showers, therefore contributes significant greenhouse gas emissions.

The staff were very friendly, and for 40 reais (~8$) I was satisfied with the shared room. It's a pretty decent hostel for the price, just what you'd expect for the cost. A good budget option for backpack travelers who need somewhere to spend the night.

The six-person room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The shared spaces were clean and organized, making for a good stay overall. Sergio welcomed us well at Sambaqui for our weekend there and gave us helpful information about Bonete, including where to watch the sunset and how to cope with the mosquitoes. You can't really get rid of them.

I've never stayed anywhere this dirty. There was mold everywhere, including all over the mattress, and the sheets smelled awful. The kitchen was so dirty, and the bathroom was disgusting. Just terrible.

There's something special about this place. The atmosphere is really cozy, the staff are super friendly, and the location is great. I'd go back again and again.
