Britânia Hotel

My wife and I spent 5 days at Britânia Hotel, em Ilhéus - BA, from 26 a 30 de outubro de 2025, and felt so well looked after. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the rooms and bathrooms were always clean. Fresh bed linen was great, and the bath and face towels were changed every day. The hotel serves breakfast and is open 24 hours, but booking ahead is important. It's a pleasant, family-friendly place right in the city center, directly opposite the old house of writer Jorge Amado. Supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and more are easy to reach, and the best beaches are nearby. Sensational hotel, a 10 out of 10, or actually a 100.

The breakfast was really good, with local fruits, fresh juices, and cakes made by the matriarch of the family. The place itself is very simple, but spotlessly clean, and the warm service more than makes up for its limitations. Dona Petrolina and her family looked after guests so kindly the whole time. I felt right at home.

There’s plenty of shopping nearby, and lots of places serve a good, affordable breakfast. The hotel is simple and doesn’t offer breakfast, but its location is great.

We enjoyed our stay as a family. It’s an old hotel with older rooms, but everything was very clean, and the atmosphere is simple and honest. The family-run place has a lot of history, from the old architecture that feels like stepping back in time to the bidets still in the rooms. You can choose a private room with a bathroom or one with a shared bathroom. The staff were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was excellent, served in a spacious, clean area. A nice place if you enjoy a bit of history. Have a good trip!
