The German owner and his family are so welcoming that Caminho do Mar feels like home as soon as you arrive. The rooms are cozy and clean, set among lovely nature just minutes from the beach, and breakfast is delicious and thoughtfully made. It may be a three-star hotel on paper, but the experience felt like five stars. A lovely hidden gem in Imbassai if you want peace, authenticity, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended.

It’s a peaceful place with plenty of privacy, good facilities and service, and a very convenient spot close to the beach. Walking to the village takes about 15 minutes, if you don’t mind the walk. We stayed at Caminho do Mar two years ago, and the kindness and hospitality of Sr. Thomas, Dna. Nice, and their children, especially Benjamim, made us want to come back. We still think the inn is excellent. Sr. Thomas and Sra. Nice are as attentive and helpful as ever. My wife and I recommend it, and we’ll definitely return.

The inn itself was quiet, beautiful, and cozy, and Benjamin and the short-haired woman at reception, whose name I don’t know, treated me well. But I still remember how rudely the owner reacted when I asked whether I could split the R$900 reservation payment into installments. He acted as if my question were an insult and made me feel bad about asking. He could simply have said installments weren’t possible without being impolite to a guest. It was some time ago, but the incident left a lasting negative impression, and I wouldn’t stay there again.
