The place is cozy, but it badly needs maintenance. The air conditioner cools well, yet it makes such a terrible noise that sleeping is almost impossible. Guests also need to be reminded to respect quiet hours. The game room and pool should have access limits too. They say they value peace and quiet, but that wasn’t my experience this weekend. I complained about the noise, it stopped for a while, then started again. If it’s a rule, it needs to be followed; this isn’t a vacation home. The solar heated shower didn’t reliably get warm. I was told to let the water run until it heated up, but that didn’t work. The breakfast fell short of what I expected and didn’t please me. The sofas in reception and upstairs were filthy and covered in spiderwebs, so I chose not to sit on them. Many of the sun loungers were broken. There was no cleaning or room service, and not even a trash bag in the room to replace the bathroom bin liner. I know the street isn’t dangerous, but given the situation we live in, nobody is completely safe. I’d suggest wristbands to identify who is a guest. They also need to pay attention to the food they serve: some items were spoiled and could cause serious health problems.

The inn is pleasant, and I felt very comfortable there. The price seemed fair for what’s offered, even in high season, as long as you see it as a place to stay rather than a permanent home. Breakfast was excellent, service was professional, and both the room and bathroom were clean. With an average build, I found that tucking the bathroom curtain inside the shower kept the floor dry and stopped it touching me. My main complaint was the air conditioner. It cools strongly, but the noise was really bad, almost unbearable. I also saw some guests taking advantage of the staff’s kindness and ignoring the rules. The staff should impose a fine when that happens. I nearly skipped this place because of the bad reviews. The structure is excellent, but it needs upkeep and isn’t being maintained well. Some guests also showed little respect for others. Pousada Thalud, I hope I can return and see the renovations. I know maintenance takes investment and isn’t easy, but I sincerely hope you can keep going and improve the facilities. Good luck!
