Take a close look at the newer comments. The positive ones are old, and lately there seems to be mold in every corner. The owners don't seem to care or want to make repairs, and they don't take responsibility for residents or for the appliances listed in the contract. They told me that if I didn't like it, I should buy my own. The owner denies the mold, even though fixing it is also his responsibility. I asked to end the contract and then the partner who says he is spiritual threatened to put a macumba curse on me. I'm not making this up or trying to defame anyone: I have photos and proof. Mold ruined my clothes and personal belongings, and it's also bad for your health. They speak badly about former residents to make themselves look like good people. They aren't.

I didn't stay in the room because it didn't feel right for my two-year-old, but the owner kept the full night's payment. I found the process neither ethical nor courteous, and I wouldn't recommend the place or return. I visited in the morning and found the room dirty and smelling of mold. It also looked different from the website photos. The owner apologized and said renovations were underway. We agreed he'd clean and provide towels, a child's mattress, and a fan, since the room was very hot and had no air conditioning. I paid the R$ 250 nightly rate in advance by Pix to his account. When I came back, the room was still poorly cleaned, and the fan and other agreed items weren't there despite the intense heat. It felt more like a rustic hostel for single travelers than an inn for families with children. The owner refused to refund me, saying the amount charged didn't allow him to provide anything more. I found much better equipped options in the same neighborhood for a similar price, R$ 265, including breakfast. I never occupied the room, yet he kept the entire payment and returned none of it. Nothing justifies charging a full night when the guest didn't even use the room.
