My wife and I had such a relaxing time at Marupiara Hotel, with plenty of lovely memories. The beach was a beautiful setting for walks and romantic moments, and the clear pool was a welcome break from the heat. We also really enjoyed eating at the restaurant, especially the dinners. The coffee breaks were a nice touch too, with tasty tapioca and wonderful views. It was a peaceful, indulgent getaway for us as a couple.

The beach is close and the pool was nice, but there was no hot tub. Our room felt old, the shower door wouldn't close, the beds were very firm, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. It took the hotel three hours to decide to move us to another room. Food was decent, maybe a 4 out of 5, but the amenities fell short of what I'd expect from a four-star hotel, so I gave it three stars.

The pools were nice, there was a sea view, and the tapioca at breakfast was great. But I expected more for the price. Our room didn't have the sea view shown in the pictures, and the bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. The lunch and dinner buffets were disappointing too. The beef parmigiana had too much batter and hardly any beef, and it was tasteless. The pasta was tasteless as well.

We had a good stay overall, though the room maintenance was a problem. For all four nights, the air conditioner dripped onto my head. We asked to have it fixed, but nothing was done. The shower's glass door also wouldn't close all the way, leaving the bathroom wet, and our request about that went nowhere too.

The hotel and its location are nice, but the building needs an update. Service was inconsistent, and both the bar and cleaning service were extremely slow. The bar areas need more space for the number of guests, and there should be more staff. Unlike most hotels in this tier, Marupiara doesn't provide complimentary bottled water, and it should.
