Samoa Villa Resort

A fantastic new resort, though it’s still under construction, so there’s dust and noise, and some new staff are still learning. They expect to fix the construction issue soon. The beach in front isn’t the best, but all the pools make up for it. One thing to know: if you don’t like kids, this place won’t suit you.

We had a great time with the activities and the location. There are several pools, lots to do, and a play area for kids. We especially enjoyed water aerobics with tio David.

Such an amazing experience.

The worst moment happened on 13/01 at around 15:30. I was asleep in the room and woke up startled to find a hotel employee inside, handling the minibar and shouting to another employee outside about operational problems. She restocked items and left without apologizing or explaining herself. It felt invasive and humiliating. I could have been changing, or my children could have been alone in the room. There’s no excuse for entering like that without respecting our privacy. We were there for only 4 days, but so many problems piled up that I found myself counting the hours until we could leave. I travel often, including to other hotels and resorts in Porto de Galinhas, and have never had so many hassles in one stay. Rooms weren’t cleaned daily, and we had to call reception to request service. The resort also seemed unfinished, with construction still underway and the facilities appearing unprepared for the number of guests. Breakfast service was another issue. Simple things like tapioca took 45 minutes to an hour, disrupting plans, especially with children. Activities brought very loud music, percussion, and frequent microphone announcements, sometimes shouted, continuing until around 22:00. We had a 1-year-old who needed an earlier bedtime, and the noise made rest almost impossible. We’d chosen the resort for peace and comfort, but didn’t get that. At breakfast, one employee was curt and inattentive over a simple request, and demanded a table number even though the tables weren’t marked. For a resort claiming a high standard, service should be welcoming and proactive. Some employees, including the housekeeping team, pool bar staff, reception, and leisure team, were polite and attentive, and deserve credit. Still, that doesn’t make up for the serious failures around privacy, rest, organization, and respect for guests. I hope management reviews its procedures, training, and facilities so other guests don’t go through the same frustration.
