This was a terrible pousada. The bed needs maintenance, and the place is badly planned, with poorly arranged spaces. We could barely get our luggage through the hallway to the rooms. The glass doors also offer neither privacy nor security. Since it's right in the city center, they should pay more attention to these basics, especially with so many people passing through.

This was the worst place I've ever stayed. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I wouldn't come back, and I'd honestly rather sleep in my car. Even 60 reais a night wouldn't feel fair for what this pseudo-pousada offers. It's not just that the place is simple. They don't seem to care about making guests comfortable, and the whole experience was bad. Some agency like Procon should come inspect it. The street was deserted and strange, there was no parking, and the reception felt disorganized and dirty. Upstairs, the corridor was so narrow that you had to turn sideways, and two people couldn't pass at once. There were rusty, roughly patched metal bars on one side, which made me feel like I was in prison. Getting through with luggage was difficult too. The room they called a suite was tiny, no more than about 10 m². Its glass door and windows left guests exposed, and the curtain barely covered either one. The swollen bathroom door wouldn't close. The towels and blankets were stained and torn. The bed made so much noise when anyone moved that it seemed ready to collapse. When I checked, it had a metal frame and loose wooden slats. The ceiling lining was falling apart, and the mattress was awful, just a thin, dusty, overly soft piece of foam. The shower was the only good thing about the room, thankfully it was hot. To get to breakfast, we had to climb stairs with steps too narrow for a whole foot, then take a long sideways route through the corridors. The only things I could eat were bread with cheese and ham, and eggs fried to order. The cuscuz and cake both tasted old and were awful.

One star only because there's no option to give none. I was hugely disappointed when we arrived. The street wasn't paved, there was no parking, and the reception smelled strongly of dust. I already regretted paying part of the booking in advance as I climbed the stairs to the rooms. The corridor was absurdly narrow, with metal bars on one side and an unfinished wall on the other. You had to turn sideways to get through, and two people couldn't pass at once. Every room was triangular and badly divided, so it was hard to imagine even one person being comfortable, let alone two or more. The room they called a suite was no more than about 10 m². The glass door and window left guests exposed, and the curtain barely covered them. The swollen bathroom door wouldn't shut. The towels and blankets were stained and torn, and the two pillows together weren't even half the size of a normal pillow. The bed made a loud noise whenever anyone moved and seemed about to collapse. It had a metal frame with loose wooden slats, a ceiling lining that was coming apart, and a terrible mattress that was just thin, dusty, very soft foam. The hot shower was the only good part. Getting anywhere in the pousada meant going through that prison-like corridor. To reach breakfast, we had to climb stairs whose steps weren't deep enough for a whole foot, then take a long, awkward route sideways through the hallways. The only food I could manage was bread with cheese and ham and eggs fried fresh. The cuscuz was awful and tasted old, and the cake was the same. I don't recommend staying here and wouldn't return. The place is bad all around, and they don't seem to care about pleasing guests. The price isn't worth it.
