I don’t usually review places to stay, and after visiting lots of places and staying in plenty of hostels, I’d never had a bad experience before. The service here was awful, and they didn’t seem to care about their customers. Things in the hostel kept breaking, with electricity and water problems. There was no hot water, and sometimes the water came out muddy-colored. It was really unpleasant to stay there, especially because of the way the hotel’s staff treated us. I don’t recommend it at all. Please don’t plan your trip around this hotel.

Even with two fans, the room stayed really hot through the day and at night. Breakfast tasted good, though there was less choice than at other hostels nearby where guests can serve themselves.

The people felt cold and unfriendly, and they never changed my sheets. Add a horrible smell and rats everywhere, and this was probably the worst hostel stay I’ve ever had. Wow.

If you're traveling on your own, I'd really recommend this place. I had a great time and loved all the managers.

The friendly atmosphere and the wonderful people working at Bananas made my stay. It's the only place I'd choose to stay in itacare.
