Porto Dos Casais Guest House Itacaré

I booked through booking.com and arrived late at night. A man checked me into my room. The next morning, a woman came to my door demanding more money than the booking price. She said the security guard had put me in the wrong room by mistake and that I had to pay the difference. When I refused, she said she'd take the extra amount from his wages. That's disgusting. If they accept late check-ins, an appropriate staff member should be there to handle them. This wasn't my fault or the security guard's.

We were a family using three rooms. One was meant for three people, but it was crowded and the third bed was so small it could only fit a child up to about 10. One room had a toilet blockage every day, sometimes twice a day, and there was occasionally a sewage smell in the rooms and at the hotel entrance. The white floors always looked dirty when we came out of the shower or back from the beach. We tried several times to talk to the manager, but he was never there, and the staff seemed not to care. They're also building more rooms and start work early in the morning, so forget sleeping in. For the price we paid, I think there are much better places.

The staff are nice, but the rooms smelled bad and weren’t clean. We told the team, and nothing changed. With better upkeep, this place could be much better.

It’s close to the beach, and a nice spot to unwind and relax.
