I Am Design Hotel Itapema by Hotelaria Brasil

The room was cozy, comfortable, and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and thoughtfully designed furniture. It’s a fairly new hotel with great room facilities, including a small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and washer-dryer. We booked mainly because it advertised a heated pool, which was the biggest letdown. It’s outside, only partly covered overhead, very small, and the water was really cold. Breakfast could offer more variety and could use another staff member. At times, the one older woman there couldn’t keep up with cleaning tables and replenishing food. It seemed to be portioned out, because once it ran out, there was no more. I asked her about the Italian salami and she said they had no more to put out. There’s no restaurant, not even for a simple snack.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay. Our loft worked well for a couple, or even with a child. It had a kitchenette, washer-dryer, microwave, coffee maker, oven, stove, fridge, utensils, sofa, bed, and table. The beach was a block and a half away, with a supermarket, pharmacies, convenience store, and two malls nearby. There were good restaurants within walking distance. The garage was secure and easy to use. Breakfast had very good quality and variety, a handy extra when you want to relax. The room was cleaned daily, which was normal for us. The pool was very dirty when we first arrived, so we didn’t feel like using it on any of the other days. In the last few days, there was also a terrible dog smell in the carpeted hallway. I have a pet at home and have nothing against pets, but the smell was very strong. I’d rather stay at hotels that don’t accept animals, though I hadn’t noticed that policy before.

It’s about a three-minute walk to the beach, and the whole place is new and immaculate. The facilities include a complete gym, a hot pool with a whirlpool, and a nice gourmet and leisure area. The flat rooms are spacious and have good household equipment, so you can feel at home. The receptionists were always attentive and courteous. We loved it and recommend it, 100%.

Everything was really good and well organized. The rooms were clean, spacious, new, and well equipped, with a gas shower. Breakfast was plentiful, and the front desk service was very efficient. The location is great, near a range of shops and the beach. The only thing missing for a full 100% was a full-length mirror.
