We headed to Penedo to see more of the state beyond Rio de Janeiro proper, and chose Pousada Suarez. The city’s Finnish roots and Santa Clause town made exploring its streets and nightlife memorable, and we’re planning to come back. At the pousada, you can tell the owner, his family, and the staff put their hearts into the place. Our bungalow sat apart from the other rooms, so we had plenty of privacy and couldn’t hear anyone else. The rooms were comfortable and had cute designs. The food was excellent, better than at some 3-4 star hotels we’ve stayed in, and Saturday’s feijoada came with five choices. So tasty! We also played futebol de salao with the owner, and the nighttime shows were amazing, interactive, and so much fun.

The owners were superb, and both the food and service were great. Such a good spot for families. Thank you!

I was only there for the quad bike race event, so I can’t say much from experience. It seemed like a nice place, with plenty of space, good accommodations, and services.

There were a lot of mosquitoes, and the facilities didn’t seem adequate for the number of guests. The meals were poor quality. The entertainers were excellent, though, and the hotel staff were smiley and helpful.

I only went to Pousada Suarez to ride a quadricycle, so I can’t offer more information about the place.
