The photos on Google are old. When we arrived at Pousada (Estrela D'Alva), there was no one at reception, so I called out. A very friendly staff member eventually appeared, at least that part was good, but she gave us no instructions. She opened about three rooms so we could pick the least bad one, since they were all in poor shape. The beds were low quality, bathrooms dirty, and the old little TV didn’t work. There was a moldy smell and an old fridge too. We were really disappointed with the place. In the morning, the same employee pointed us to breakfast. Another staff member there said we each got one bread roll and one piece of fruit, and that was all. Awful place, I don’t recommend it.

The cable TV had only one channel, and luckily it wasn’t hot because the digital air conditioner showed 18° but felt like it was only blowing air. They also hand you the sheets and expect you to change the bed yourself. Breakfast? Any bakery does it better. Never stay at this so-called inn.

The room was dirty and full of mold, which even triggered my allergies. The sheet had a hole, the sink was clogged, and the window was stuck. They also stored things the staff didn’t use, like Christmas decorations and soccer balls, on top of the wardrobes and under the beds. The staff treated us terribly, the service was awful, and breakfast was bad too. I’m never staying here again.

The location is excellent, near the beach in the center, and it felt safe around the clock. The staff were very attentive. The suites had TVs, new split air conditioners, hot and cold showers, minibars, internet, and great privacy. I couldn’t ask for more. A really nice inn.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here. The service was awful, and the staff didn’t know how to look after guests. Breakfast was worse than at a cheap bar. When we arrived, the receptionist was sitting in the window and seemed more like a guest than someone working there. She paid us no attention and didn’t even know which room was ours. The owner was away the whole time and never showed up to help or explain anything.
