Joyce was a huge help while we planned things ourselves, answering all our questions and making the trip much easier. The staff were attentive, the place was well organized and easy to find, and the breakfast had lots of good options. The air conditioning and mini fridge worked well. Our stay was from October 31 to November 2. The house was full when we arrived, but Joyce welcomed us warmly. We were assigned room 19 and found a weak shower flow, a shock from the shower, and damp coming through the wall. We asked to move; because the pousada was full, that couldn't happen until the next day, but Joyce tried to address things in the meantime. None of this ruined our trip. The Wi-Fi was unreliable in our room, and I think the bedspreads are old, the bath towels too small, and rooms and bathrooms should be checked before guests arrive. I plan to bring my whole family next time. My tips: book tours through the pousada, since it's cheaper than an agency, and choose a place with a pool in case the beach isn't suitable for swimming.

The service was poor, too. The staff weren't especially friendly or helpful, and the cleaning women were rude and talked badly about guests in front of others. Weird. My room was awful, though I can't speak for the others. It felt shut in, with only a small high window, and the outside light stayed on all night, making the room bright. The TV didn't work, the Wi-Fi connected for two minutes and then stopped, and the air conditioner remote barely worked. The mattress sagged into a hole when I lay down. The place needs a lot of maintenance. It's in the center of Jeri, but that's about all it has going for it. You can find a better pousada. I won't be back.

The only things I liked were the receptionists' attention and the location. The breakfast was poor, with few choices. The juice was warm and watery; when I asked a woman for ice, she poured it into the juice bottle, making it even thinner. The sausage sauce was basically water, and the couscous was very dry. None of the breakfast bottles were labeled, so you couldn't tell which had coffee or milk. The pool was tiny and always dirty during my stay. The place itself was in terrible shape. They put me in a small room beside the laundry, with bags of dirty guest bedding piled outside the rooms. I felt frustrated by that. The mattress was much too soft, the pillows were flat and worn out, and the TV didn't work. The Wi-Fi connected and dropped again in under two minutes. The shower was very low, flushing meant taking the toilet lid off, and the plastic sink felt flimsy. The shower wiring was exposed and seemed at risk of shorting. The room's PVC ceiling was in bad condition and made noises at night, like something was running over it. This was the worst pousada I've ever stayed in.

We'd booked just one night, and that was enough to know we wouldn't come back. We got there around 6 p.m., went to see the beach, and returned to find sand on top of the bed. We cleaned it off, then heard cats walking around in the ceiling above us when we went to sleep. It was horrible. I jumped out of bed when I saw a hole in the ceiling, scared the cat might come right through. My two-year-old daughter was sleeping in the bed with us. What if that ceiling had fallen? At reception, they insisted we stay in that room and said they'd move us if the cat came back. I refused and asked to be moved immediately. They put us in a family room with about six beds. The whole thing was embarrassing and uncomfortable. The upstairs rooms urgently need renovation. My husband is allergic to cats, and there were several around the pousada, even on the breakfast tables where they slept at night.

The location worked well and the people were very friendly, but the photos gave the wrong impression. The pool felt more like a big bathtub, the bathroom leaked, and the room was smaller than it looked online. We stayed on September 7, Independence Day, and some guests ignored the pousada's rules. People were shouting at 1 a.m., and the staff didn't say anything.
