We never even stayed. We paid 3,000 reais upfront, with another 3,800 due when we arrived. The photos on Booking weren't of the room he offered us. It had no ventilation, an open sewer in the corridor, and was in an alley facing the backs of houses, with no view in front. We arrived at 4 a.m. with heavy bags, and he took us to a tiny room with no hot shower. The fridge was so old and filthy I couldn't bring myself to take water from it. There was even uncovered ham inside, smelling bad. The room next to his was so close I could hear him breathing. We left in the middle of the night, exhausted and without sleep, to find somewhere else. He has my money and claims he was the one who lost out, even though he canceled on Booking. Who would leave in the middle of a trip, with half the stay paid, if the place had even the bare minimum? What loss is he talking about, calling that shack a pousada? Simple is fine, filth and lies aren't. I want our money back. Priscila and Flávia
