Pousada Chale Heloisa

The service was really poor. They ignored our messages and brushed off our complaints. When we arrived, the pousada was full, so they arranged another pousada for our first night. Our schedule was tight, and we didn't have time to check out and check in again. They said they would transfer the amount for the other three nights to the pousada where we stayed, but that never happened, and we had to pay ourselves. We never got to see the room.

I left my notebook charger in the room. I've been trying to get in touch for days and keep getting ignored. I even said I'd be happy to pay for shipping, but they still don't reply.

The good points were the location, the quiet at night, and a decent sized room with air conditioning that worked well. It's close enough to walk everywhere in the center. Breakfast was good, with fruit every day and tapioca and omelets made when you asked. There were quite a few problems, though. We stayed seven days and the stained sheets were never changed. They only changed the towels after we asked. One day the room wasn't cleaned; no one was at reception when we left, so I thought they'd clean it later. With all the wind and sand in the village, daily cleaning is needed. The shower had barely any water pressure, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and only two of the room's four outlets worked. The attendants were helpful, but didn't seem very friendly and often looked stressed. Maybe the price would make it reasonable, but I looked around and found other pousadas in the same range with better reviews. We booked about eight months ahead, when the reviews were good, so I can only conclude the quality has gone downhill.

It's near the little center, behind the church, so we could walk everywhere. The place felt cozy and welcoming, and was great value for money. The guys at reception were a thousand out of a thousand. The women serving breakfast were just as lovely, polite, and friendly, and did everything they could to make things good for us.
