When I stayed here over New Year’s Eve 2015/16, the money inside my locked bag was stolen. I tried to speak to Matusa, the hotel owner, but he was very drunk and threatened me and my friends. He told us that if we wanted to stay, that was how things were, and if we wanted to call the police, we should leave that night. I’ve heard there are many lawsuits against him over various alleged crimes, and that he has a bad reputation in the city. Be careful if you don’t want your rare vacation to end this way.

The team’s kindness and attention made us feel at home from our first day. Ana Paula deserves special thanks for being so helpful, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. The atmosphere was pleasant, and everything was kept clean and well cared for. We had an excellent experience at Pousada Matusa, and the value for money was great. We’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone wanting comfort and wonderful service in Jericoacoara.

The staff at pousada Matusa were wonderful, and the breakfast view was spectacular. I love simple places where you can make the most of every moment, and this pousada’s beautiful rustic decor suited me perfectly. Jericoacoara is a great place to visit at any time of year. I went in low season, when prices are more accessible, but high season starts in June for those with a little extra to spend. The village beach is lovely for all ages, and the excursions outside the village are beautiful. You do pay entrance fees at the clubs, but they’re worth it. I have no complaints about my stay. Don’t miss the samba and pagode show at Quintal Jeri. There’s also live music by the sea in the village every night at the caipirinha bars. I’d love to return. For a tour agency, I recommend Nevada turismo. Our guide in Jeri was Didi, who’s part of the transfer association, since only authorized cars can enter the village.

The rooftop pool has a really nice view, and the inn is in a good location. We were treated very well, especially by Ana Paula in the restaurant, who was attentive and helpful, and Diego at reception. There were a few specific issues with the facilities, but the value for money is great. Thanks to everyone.
