Get One #209 - Studio in Jampa by Carpediem

Our stay in apartment 429 at Get One, managed by Miramar Hospedagens, was a huge disappointment. We booked everything through Decolar to avoid problems, but when we arrived from our flight at 2 a.m., we were told Miramar hadn’t authorized our check-in. We were left stuck at reception, exhausted and without proper help, trying to reach someone in the middle of the night to sort it out. They only let us in after we paid a R$75 cleaning fee that Decolar hadn’t mentioned. We’d already paid the full accommodation price, yet had to pay an unexpected extra charge just to get into the apartment at that hour. The check-in process was chaotic too. We hadn’t been sent proper instructions, an access code, or clear directions, exactly when we needed things to be easy. After all that trouble and the cleaning charge, the apartment was far from clean. There wasn’t even toilet paper. We found cockroaches, and the fridge and cupboards smelled strongly of rotten fish. The towels and bedding were stained, and the curtains had strange, suspicious-looking marks. The mattress was so old and worn that its fabric was covered in little pills, making it feel like lying on sand. The sheets were stained and looked dirty too, and did nothing to make it more comfortable. I really can’t recommend apartments managed by Miramar Hospedagens. My one positive note is about Get One itself: the building is good, organized, modern, and very well located. I’d return to the building without a problem, but never to an apartment managed by Miramar.
