Great.

The hotel is at the far end of the beach, which makes it a good choice if you want somewhere quiet. The street seemed safe and was easy to park on, even though the hotel charges for parking. The building and facilities are new, but the rooms and bathrooms are cramped, with nowhere suitable to hang clothes. The elevator was under maintenance for several days, leaving just one running. With the hotel full, that led to long waits. Breakfast never seemed to change, and the bread didn’t look fresh. Once, I saw a staff member kick a bag of bread, which made me question the care and hygiene around food handling. There was also no consistent check on who was using breakfast. They sometimes asked for the guest’s room number and sometimes didn’t. Pool towels were similarly loosely managed: we could collect them at reception without being asked for our room number, and staff gave conflicting instructions about whether to return them there or leave them in the room.

There’s hardly anything nearby, and the hotel feels far from everything. The staff seemed unprepared even for basic things. At breakfast, tables weren’t being cleared, and when it got busy the staff dropped dishes and looked lost. Barbara at reception was incredibly rude and didn’t seem to know how to deal with guests. If you forget to put out the do not disturb sign, expect housekeeping to tap lightly on your door three times at 9:00 in the morning and come straight in. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and never had that happen. I don’t recommend this place, and I wouldn’t stay here again even for free.

The room was comfortable, especially the bed and shower, and everything was clean. The area felt safe, but it’s a long way from the nightlife along the waterfront, so we had to take Uber everywhere. Breakfast starts later than I’d like, and the kitchen staff weren’t especially friendly. The reception team, though, were all great. I’d still recommend the hotel.
