The location was a real plus, right across from Cabo Branco beach, with a great view and sofas and loungers worth using. There’s also a restaurant that doubles as a mini-market just a few steps away, and it’s the only one nearby. The room looked nice and was well decorated, with comfortable beds, scented towels, sheets and a blanket for each bed, but it clearly needs more care. The bathroom caused most of the trouble. I reported the problems to management when I arrived on Thursday, and they said they’d send a technician, but nobody came. On Monday, a housekeeper unclogged the sink and fixed the broken flush, which I’d been dealing with for three days by opening the tank lid and filling it by hand. There was also a persistent floor leak that left the tiles and bath mats wet. She fixed nearly everything, but the leak continued and the floor stayed slippery. By checkout, nobody had brought the toilet paper I’d requested, and the leak was still bad enough that we had to wring out the mats during the night so no one would slip. I suspect the flush was where the leak came from, so I put a cloth between the leak and the drain to keep the whole floor from flooding. We also lost power after a hot shower, and the housekeeper had to go downstairs to reset the breaker. Management replies quickly on WhatsApp, but I was still waiting for a lasting fix on my third day. I was told the technician was off. This isn’t really a hotel, but a private condominium where some suites are rented out. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, but can’t get much done. There was no toilet paper or soap in the unit, and they didn’t bring any after I asked. As already mentioned, there’s no breakfast, and the hotel restaurant has stopped operating. The general cleaning wasn’t awful, but the property needs more attention, and some areas are closed for lack of maintenance, including the children’s pool. The pool was a separate problem: very poorly maintained. In the morning, after the pool attendant had worked on it, a yellowish floating slime with pieces in it looked like vomit. I told reception, but two hours later it still hadn’t been cleaned. The water was cloudy, slimy and dirty on the days I saw it, and even after cleaning hours it still looked cloudy and unclean.
