Hostel Cidade das Flores

Top notch.

Sra. Jane and the manager, Sra. Ellen, both treated me very well and gave me a warm welcome. I plan to come back soon. 🙏🏼

Sr. Márcio and his wife were very kind and did their best to help us and give us the attention we needed during our stay. I’m grateful to them. The rest of the experience was frustrating. I found Hostel Cidade das Flores online while looking for a place in Joinville during the dance festival, and booked a set number of days with the owner, dona Juscelia. The property seemed to have structural issues and little investment. Water kept dripping from the shower in our room, and we were blamed for causing it. The owner wasn’t there on any of the days I stayed, so everything had to be handled by phone. Her tracking of check-ins and check-outs was so inaccurate that it caused serious discomfort. While I was at Beto Carrero park, I got a call saying I had to leave because my days were supposedly over. She couldn’t even count the days of her guests correctly. She also tried to put strangers in the room that had been reserved for our group, including children, even though we had discussed this before booking and she had said it wouldn’t happen. The Wi-Fi never worked. When we left, there wasn’t even a call or any feedback to ask what we thought of the place. The owner’s presence was extremely hard to come by, and her lack of basic, necessary information caused a lot of discomfort.

The place was clean and pleasant, and I got a wonderful night’s sleep. Having coffee in the sun and enjoying the peaceful morning made this Sunday feel perfect. From my first WhatsApp call, the owner was attentive and kind. When I arrived, Sr. Márcio was just as friendly. He’s lovely to talk to and made me feel at ease, almost like I was at my mother’s house, with all his care and warmth. I recommend this inn, hostel, whatever you’d like to call it.
