Hotel Angler Hof

The staff were friendly, the service was excellent, and everything was spotless. Great location, delicious breakfast, and good prices. Impeccable, and highly recommended.

There was no real security at the entrance: the gate was set to manual, so I had to get out of the car to open it. The “chalet” was supposed to have four single beds, as the hotel had promised, but there was only a very small double bed and one single. As soon as we went in, there was a horrible smell. With no windows for ventilation, it felt more like a basement. There were no bath towels, toilet paper, or blankets. The bathroom had no shower enclosure, and the old electric shower had very little water. There was even a floor squeegee to push around all the water that went everywhere. No mirror in the bathroom or the bedroom, either. The place was dark and damp, and the main light was burned out. The mattress and bedding were awful. They seemed as old as the hotel, which dates back to 1987, the same year used as the password for the slow Wi-Fi. There was no minibar, and we chose not to turn on the wall air conditioner because, given the state of the room, we thought it could cause an allergy or something worse. Breakfast was basic. The ham and mortadella were slimy, the fruit looked bad, and the pre-sliced bread made it seem like they might reuse it the next day. The cups ran out, and it took a long time to replace them. When we left at 10 a.m., nobody was at reception to check us out. I had to make a Pix payment and leave the key on the table. We paid R$ 330 for the night, which in my opinion wasn't worth half that. I'll never come back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The superior room had plenty of space, and the hotel was really clean. We were welcomed warmly, though we only stayed one night. The double bed felt small. In the bathroom, a single pane separates the shower area from the toilet, so water ends up all over the floor. There’s a squeegee to push it away, but that setup isn’t great. Breakfast was basic for the nightly rate, and service ends at 9:30, which feels too early, especially on a Sunday.

The breakfast was simple but good, and the location worked well since it was close to the event I attended. Still, I was surprised there was no shampoo in the bathroom. I’ve always found it at other hotels, so I ended up washing my hair with soap. For what the hotel offers, I think the price is high.
