Hotel Maria Luiza

Okay.

Top.

There was juice, but I wanted coffee. At 6:25, there still wasn’t any, and the cook was very unfriendly when I asked. It felt like she made a point of not serving it. In the end, I didn’t get any coffee.

I only stayed because I had a civil service exam the next day and didn’t want any more hassle, but I couldn’t sleep because of the noise. The nightclub had a live event all night, and it sounded like we were right below the stage and speakers. People came in shouting and slamming doors too. The hotel is far from downtown and the commercial districts, with few places to eat nearby. The room was badly designed, and the bed was uncomfortable and noisy, with a stained, non-fitted sheet that slipped off the mattress. The blanket seemed dirty and smelled like a dog. The old shower had weak pressure and barely got warm on a night that turned a little cold. I also forgot to mention the TV: it was very old and small, with only a few lousy old channels. I saw other, better-known hotels in better locations for the same price. A terrible experience.
