Hospedaria Tayrona

The homemade breakfast is delicious, and the hosts are kind, relaxed, and helpful. They speak good English, so communication is easy. The pousada is cute and sits right in the centre on a quiet street. I highly recommend staying here in lencois.

Lovely guesthouse, delicious breakfast, and great hosts!

The breakfast deserves its own mention: every morning felt special, with a generous, tasty selection that celebrates Bahian culture. We also loved the cat Paçoca, who followed us to our room and sweetly and charmingly “asked” for his share. Hospedaria Tayrona was a big part of why we fell in love with Chapada Diamantina. It’s less than a five-minute walk from the centre and restaurants, yet the setting is peaceful and away from the noise. The rooms have thoughtful touches: a clothesline, insect repellent (we didn’t end up needing it), a clay water filter that helped us spend less on bottled water, a minibar, TV, air conditioning, and a shoe rack outside the room to keep things tidy. Cleaning was done carefully each day, including fresh towels. Jonatan, the owner, was attentive and helpful, sharing great tips for outings, unusual routes, and restaurants. His wife Monique was incredibly kind. When we left, it felt like we were saying goodbye to new friends, not just our hosts. We’re truly grateful for all the warmth and hospitality. See you again...

The room was small, but had what we needed: a comfortable bed, air conditioning, a good shower, minibar, TV, and lovely-smelling sheets and towels. The place felt so welcoming I almost felt at home, haha. The owners were super friendly, and I’d definitely return and recommend it. Breakfast was a really positive part of the stay, made individually with regional products and prepared with a lot of care.
