Pousada Horto da Chapada

The pool is huge and the water was nice and warm. We had a party there one night, and the pousada staff even lent us a speaker, which made it a hit. The team were super attentive and welcoming, and clearly enjoy what they do. It's a simple but really inviting place, close to the center of lençóis, with a spotless breakfast spread. The parking area looks out toward the waterfall, so waking up to that sound was priceless. The beds are old, but we slept just fine. The TV is old too, though it gets a few channels. Great value for the money. I recommend it, 1000 stars.

The rooms could use some improvement. The sink is outside the bathroom, and rooms with a fan have an ordinary tabletop one rather than a ceiling fan, which made it tricky in the heat with three people in a room. The bathroom cleaning also seemed pretty superficial, with things like cobwebs left on the walls. The staff were very attentive, though, and breakfast changed in some way each day. On our excursion, some people were vegan, and the pousada provided a few options for them.

The other areas of the pousada looked quite pleasant, but the room I was given was nowhere near adequate. I was booked through an excursion, though I don't think even the worst room should be like that. It had no furniture, the bed was very bad, and the room itself had clearly been neglected.

Horto da Chapada has a lovely setting, with colorful little house-like rooms, flowers and plants, and a beautiful, spacious area for breakfast with a great view. The pool is lovely and open from 9 to 21:30. It’s close enough to the town center to walk around easily, and breakfast is great and complete. The team are helpful and always look out for guests’ comfort. They also use an interesting system to save energy.
